Legal awareness drive in State rural areas organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority

ITANAGAR: In an endeavour to provide justice to the people, especially to the poor and needy, the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APLSA) in association with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Yupia and the Arunachal Law Academy (ALA), on Monday conducted a day-long door-to-door” legal awareness and free legal counselling campaign.

The door-to-door campaign was organized at rural villages like Sood, Borum, Yupia, Tigdo, Emchi, Chiputa, Jampa, Mani, Sopo, Midpu, Kholma and Khula Camp. Altogether 370 households were covered in the campaign. Around 1855 household members have benefitted from the campaign.

The objective of the campaign was to make the rural people aware about the availability of free legal services for the poor and needy people, where and how to avail it and thereby make justice easily accessible for all. It is a follow up of the motto of legal services – No one should be denied justice by reason of any economic or other disabilities. The campaign was successfully carried out lead by 7 legal aid counsels of the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) & District Legal services authority, Yupia, three faculty members of the Arunachal law Academy (ALA ) and 84 law students of Arunachal Law Academy who are also trained para legal volunteers of APSLSA.
