Leo Club organizes blood donation camp

Silchar, April 28: The newly floated Leo Club of Silchar Leos, the youth wing of Lions Club of Silchar Lioness in association with Indian Red Cross Society, district branch, Silchar, organized a blood donation camp on Friday at Durgashankar Paathshala, Ambicapatty of this town. A total number of 23 persons, which include 15 males and 8 females, donated blood at the donation camp which was based on the noble theme of ‘Donate red, save blue and spread green’.  The themes ‘donate red’ implies donation blood, ‘save blue’ means saving water and using it sparingly, and ‘spread green’ stands for planting trees. Leo Club of Silchar Leos comprises 32 members with Ketan Singodia as its president, Anupriya Deb as secretary and Arindam Goala as joint secretary. School children were given a test to see how much water they waste while brushing. Priya Das of IVth standard was rewarded for using minimum water for brushing teeth. Students were also taught and trained in planting saplings in pots. 10 pots were given to the school authorities.
