Incomplete works of Foot-Path of Convoy Rood, Dibrugarh

ChiefMinister Sarbananda Sonowal harbours a candid desire to beautify a few towns of Assam and Dibrugarh is one amongst them. With a view to doing so he chalked out an ambitious plan to beautify Dibrugarh. As a part of materializing his plan the work of construction of a long and strong foot-path with deep drain underneath from Boiragimoth to Amolapatty Chariali to drain out rain water to the big drain was undertaken almost one year ago. This would serve some useful purpose. The main purpose being to give relief to most of the citizens of the area from the perennial artificial floods due to rain water. So, when the work was undertaken the affected people along with those who frequently use convoy road to move to and fro heaved a sigh of relief anticipating that it would facilitate their movements in the peak hours either in their four-wheeler, three-wheeler or two-wheeler. Particularly, the pedestrians who think walking across the convoy road (Tarun Ram Phukan Road) is like putting them on the jaws of death. I personally talked to the Dibrugarh MP over phone for a footbridge over the drain like the one near Sani Mandir as the particular area with the two pools on both sides is narrower than the rest of the raod and for pedestrians it is like putting them between the two horns of a devil. Incidentally, many accidents take place in this sensitive area. Presence of a footbridge would alleviate the inconvenience faced by the pedestrians. Reply from the MP was evasive as he wanted to skip my point. Now, coming to the point of construction of foot-path, the work is left midway unfinished, jeopardizing the lives of many using the road. It is also learnt that the local MLA having been deprived of a berth in the ministry loses his interest on certain vital issues concerning the citizens. Things become so much tantalizing during the regime of the BJP! The roads of Dibrugarh, like most other roads of Assam starts wearing a deplorable look. Through your esteemed daily, we appeal to our Chief Minister to take appropriate steps to set things right.
Ashok Bordoloi,
Dibrugarh.

Farzical gang

Indian Army’s most daring strike often called as surgical strike in the heart of enemy’s territory is an historic and proud moment for all. The superbly coordinated strike conducted by our brave hearts in 2016 has now been embroiled in controversy. Few quislings such as Rahul Gandhi, Sanjay Nirupam, Digvijay Singh have expressed reservations about the claim made by DGO of the Indian Army. On camera these leaders have openly questioned the authenticity of the Army’s surgical strike. By questioning the DGO of Army they have put a question mark over the integrity of the Army. In India there are only a few handful of institutions on whom we can blindly believe. The latest addition to the Farzical gang is veteran leader Arun Shourie, former cabinet minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. The ex-Minister termed the surgical strike of 2016 in Pakistan as Farzical strike. The nation is ashamed of the so called Farzical gang.
