Dynasty vs Democracy

India is world’s largest democracy and all Indians takeaway pride in declaring that they are citizens of this great country. Irrespective of religion, caste, creed, status, etc every India has equal rights in democratic processes.

In other words, there is no discrimination in so far participating in the democratic process is concerned. But the century-old political party, the Congress, which has seen many upsets of the nation, still follows dynasty politics. Over the years, the chief of the Congress has been emerging from a single family.

After Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, it was Late Indira Gandhi, followed by Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and now Rahul Gandhi. We all know that democracy and nasty cannot go together. Hence, the democratic setup in the Congress is not as strong as it claims.
