Literary body observes first anniversary

PATHSALA, Feb 11: The first anniversary of Joki Mel, which is a literary-cultural organization of greater Bajali area giving platform to writers, poets and singers, was held on Friday at the Azad Bhawan, Pathsala. The anniversary programme was started in the evening with a chorus sung by students followed by speeches from different persolities. Eminent people like Jee Rajkumari, Akshay Kumar Mishra, Dr.Jaganth Patgiri, Dr.Karu Kanta Patgiri and Robin Patowary were present in the meeting. The souvenir of the first anniversary Joki Mel was unveiled by retired teacher Akshay Kumar Mishra. Riku Pathak, who is degree student of Bajali College, released his debut solo song Xopun Xopun on the occasion. His song was released by Jee Rajkumari, who is a eminent cultural activist. Four books, Sobdor Ramdhenu and Probondho Sankalan by Dr.Jaganth Patgiri, Sangitaleikha by Sarat Ch. Talukdar and Democracy and Education by Kamini Mohan Sarma were also released.
