Lok Sabha Election: Poll Officers Make Their Way To Booths

GUWAHATI: Gearing up for the third and final phase of polls on Tuesday in four Parliamentarian Constituencies in Assam, the fate of the 17 candidates in the fray in Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency will be decided.

The EVM/VVPAT machines were handed over to the polling officers at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, who have made their way to their respective polling booths. A total of 5300 polling personnel have been appointed in Kamrup (M), with 10 percent held in the reserve team. Moreover, in every Circle Office, there will be an EVM expert team. 59 polling stations have been identified as critical in 40 buildings; while there will be 12 model polling stations in Kamrup (M).

In the Jalukbari Assembly segment, there are a total of 243 polling stations including 96853 male, 97809 female and 9 from the third gender voters, with 73 vehicles arranged to move the polling personnel. In the Dispur Assembly segment, there are a total of 404 polling stations including 193912 male, 191734 female and 10 from the third gender voters, with 124 vehicles arranged to move the polling personnel. In the East Guwahati Assembly segment, there are a total of 244 polling stations including 113700 male, 113954 female and 14 from the third gender voters, with 74 vehicles arranged to move the polling personnel. In the West Guwahati Assembly segment, there are a total of 304 polling stations including 138920 male, 139296 female and 7 from the third gender voters, with 86 vehicles arranged to move the polling personnel.
