Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health Conducts Special Cleanliness Drive

Tezpur: As part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur conducted special cleanness drive at LGBRIMH campus recently. The drive was inaugurated by Dr. S K Deuri, Director, LGBRIMH Tezpur, in presence of faculty members, officers, staff and students. While taking part in the programme, Dr. Hemanta Dutta, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat Mission, LGBRIMH said, “We are organizing this programme to increase awareness about ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’. It is important to generate awareness to motivate communities to adopt sustainable cleanliness practices every day.”

Dutta further added, “Sanitation can go a long way towards mitigating hospital infection. Our institute is taking further steps to make public places in and around the hospital complex a tobacco-free zone.” He also stressed the importance of keeping homes, public places, localities and surroundings clean. During the fortnightly campaign, different activities like training programmes, street play, awareness activities and cleanliness drive were held.
