Look after your cuticles
Healthy cuticles means healthy nails as they act as natural barriers to infections and as a seal for hydration. Hence, it is important to keep this area healthy and moisturized from which strong nails grow.
Stop the biting
Of course nail biting will only reduce the size. It can lead to infections and creating small cracks in the nail.
Take a break from gel and acrylic
Gel and acrylic manicures make long-lasting damage to the nails, making them weak. It is also difficult to remove it with strong acetone.
File properly
Filing nails can be beneficial for growth and limiting breakages, which should be in one direction rather than back and forth as it may cause small cracks in the nail.
Always use a base coat
When painting nails a good base coat should be used as it can prevent nails from peeling and becoming weak. Wearing a base coat can add an extra layer of protection.
Remove nail varnish gently
Acetone dries out nails and makes them brittle, leaving them more prone to breakage and even trying to remove glitter is a trouble. Dip an old pair of tights in nail varnish remover and gently rubbing in circles; the tights will help remove the glitter better than cotton wool.
Avoid nail hardeners
Nail hardeners might strengthen brittle nails, but they can cause more harm as they contain formaldehyde that can dry out nails and then make them brittle and break.
