Lower Subansiri lift U-17 Subroto Cup

Itagar, Feb 4: Lower Subansiri emerged winner by defeating West Siang by two goals to nil in the fil match of the state level Subroto Cup Football tourment played at Pasighat in East Siang district on Wednesday.

Lower Subansiri has secured a place in the tiol level Subroto Cup, an official report said here today.

Altogether ten teams participated in the tourment including East Kameng, West Siang, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Kurung Kumey, Papumpare, Upper Subansiri and Lower Subansiri.

The winning team would be given three months coaching by the Secondary Education Directorate to make them competitive for tiol level. The fil match was kicked-off by JNC Principal Dr Tayek Talom.

Among others CCF Millo Tago, Organizing Chairman Gomo Tato, Youth Welfare Officer L Shokun Singh, DDSE cum Vice Chairman Obuk Panor, host officers, leaders and hundreds of soccer lovers witnessed the crowd pulling fil match.

In the high voltage fil match, LS team was in total control since the beginning in which Millo Tarung scored one goal through pelty kick. Despite several attempts, West Siang team failed to equalize in the match.

In the second half, Tailyang Tai maged to score another goal to finish the match, the report added.
