Itagar, April 2: Anshu Jamsenpa received loud applause from the students and faculty of Lovely Professiol University (LPU) when she was felicitated by the varsity Chancellor Ashok Mittal in a function held in Jalandhar on March 25 last. With more than 30,000 students and over 3,500 faculty members, LPU is India’s largest University and the occasion was the annual mega fest ‘One-India’ with the theme ‘Maa Tuje Salaam’ where Anshu was honored to celebrate the theme and to inspire the youths, women folk of the college and around the world, informed a communiqué.
The veneration programme opened with one km long procession comprising scores of tableaus and troupes representing 29 states of India. LPU students from each nook and corner of India and 30 countries worked together to prove the celebration grand in form and aim. Anshu during her speech stated that hard work, determition and focused target was the only way to the top whether it is mountaineering, adventure sports or any other field.
She emphasized on Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and requested the university authorities to keep not only the LPU campus clean but also the surrounding periphery areas.
She also stated that she is associated with breast cancer awareness programme, education campaign and is also working for anti-discrimition and gender equality in association with ReachOut Foundation.
Anshu congratulated team Aruchal who defeated 27 other states and was declared second position winner in ‘One-India’ competition and also interacted with 1500 plus students from the north-east region who jostled for space to take sps with her.
LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal thanked Anshu for accepting his invitation in joining the mega celebration and motivating scores of youths and students from different corners of the world. He stated that India is a great land with abundant and equal opportunities for men and women. This joint celebration of oneness proves that LPU students are in right direction of being future leaders, added the communiqué.
