Major General Rajeev Sirohi takes over command of Red Horns Division

GUWAHATI, Feb 19: Major General Rajeev Sirohi, VSM took over command of the prestigious Red Horns Division from Major General CP Mohanty AVSM, SM, VSM who has proceeded on posting to Rajasthan, a defence communiqué stated.  

Commissioned in the Grediers Regiment on 18 Jun 1983, the General has had a distinguished military career in which he has executed important Command and Staff appointments in India and abroad.  

He has participated in United tions Peace Keeping in Cambodia and Sierra Leone, Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorist operations in Jammu & Kashmir.  The General has been awarded Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service.

During the course of his handing taking over, the General Officer visited Guwahati and met the Chief Secretary and DGP, Assam Police and a host of other senior Civil and Police Officers.

On taking charge he assured that Red Horns Division will continue to stand by the people of Assam and maintain the tempo of operations against the rebel groups.
