Major road accident kills two at Pathsala

PATHSALA, Feb 13: A major road accident took place between a speeding Alto car and a cyclist at Pathsala NH-31 in Barpeta district. Two persons died on spot and one was injured.

The incident happened when the speeding car mowed down two women when it tried to avoid hitting a student of Bajali College on bicycle. The deceased have been identified as Maloti Boro and Basonti Boro of Baska district. Both the women were coming to Pathsala for fishing.

The injured has been identified as Karb Roy of Dharamtala from Barpeta district who was on the bicycle. With the help of local public, the injured was sent to Swahid Madan Rawata Bajali subdivisiol hospital in Pathsala in a serious condition.

Police took the driver to the police station for further investigation and the bodies were sent to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, Barpeta for post-mortem.
