Majuli DC Debaprasad Misra launches ‘Pension-papers Processing’ app

Majuli: To mark the 4th anniversary of Digital India campaign, on Tuesday, an offline application for fast processing of Pension-papers of retired government employees has been launched in Majuli district. The deputy commissioner of Majuli Debaprasad Misra formally launched the “e-PPS” (Electronic Pension-papers Processing System) app at the district level function of the 4th anniversary of “Digital India” campaign, a flagship programme of the Govt. of India to create a digitally empowered society & knowledge economy, stated a press release.

DC Debaprasad Misra graced the district level function held at the conference hall of DC office at Garamur as the chief guest. The ADCs Noren Das and Utpal Doley, Assistant Commissioners Achyut Baruah, Himadri Bora, Bibhash Pathak, Circle Officer (Attached) Dr Anamika Gogoi along with other government officials, bankers etc. attended the programme.

The app is an innovative offline computer application through which a retired government employee’s pension papers could be processed in very short time. The time saving offline app is being developed locally in Majuli district by a 4 member team led by the Assistant Commissioner Achyut Baruah. The members are NIC Network Engineer Pijush Dutta, Majuli ITDP employee Satyendra Nath Pamegam and Majuli Election office employee Om Prakash Goswami. Generally, the process to fill up the pension papers of a retired government employee manually requires almost 5 to 6 hours. But the new offline app will enable all to electronically process the papers within half an hour only. In the new app, an applicant retired employee requires to type the bio-data related information like name, date of birth, age, gender, address etc. only in the very first form as the e-PPS will automatically generate those information in other forms too. The team members who have developed the app were felicitated in the function by the deputy commissioner Misra. Congratulating them, Misra said that their innovative work would certainly benefit the retired persons and ensure speedy disposal of pension cases.
