Man Dies After Consuming Poisonous Liquor in Sivasagar, Assam

JOYSAGAR: Jayanta Baruah (48), a resident of Cheuni Ali village of Samoguri under Halwating PS of Sivasagar district died on Friday night due to consumption of poisonous liquor. As per information, Jayanta had gone to an illegal liquor den where he consumed country liquor and returned home late night. But at night his condition became critical and he died on the way to the hospital.

Local villagers alleged that in the Cheuni Ali, Samoguri and Halwating areas there were many illegal liquor dens where country liquor and IMFL were sold but the authorities concerned do not take any action.
