Man dies in road mishap

Rangia, Feb 9: Nizamuddin Ahmed (39) of Kazigaon Rangia was killed on the spot at NH-31, Rangia when a speeding mini truck knocked him down on Tuesday evening. An infant of about 6 years was also injured seriously who has been shifted to GMCH by Rangia police with the help of local public. According to the eye witness, the truck dragged them when Ahmed with his daughter Suha Yasmin were trying to cross the tiol highway, killing Ahmed on the spot. Rangia police rushed to the spot after being informed and rescued the girl child. Later police sent her to GMCH in a critical condition for better treatment. Police also recovered the body. Ahmed hails from Boko under Kamrup district and was residing at Rangia Kazigaon in a rental house.
