Man dies of heart attack in Udalguri after tremor

MANGALDAI, April 25:  During the tremor that rocked  the State and other parts of the country besides  neighbouring Nepal at around 11.45 am, one villager met with his tragic end while he was taking bath in a village pond. The  incident took place at Borkola (Kalitapara) village under Kalaigaon police station in Udalguri district.  The villager has been identified as Jogendra Das (45) - a father of four children. Sources said he was taking bath in a village pond while the tremor was felt. The tremor caused strong shock on him and he breathed his last. The villagers on seeing him lying unconscious in the pond, immediately rescued him but failed to save his life. Fishery and Water Resource Minister Basanta Das, Executive Member for Soil Conservation and Transport of Bodoland Territorial Council Jagadish Sarkar and former MCLA Keshab Chandra Deka have expressed deep condolence over the unexpected demise of the villager.
