Man kills wife in msai, public beat him to death

Itagar, May 7: In a bizarre incident a man killed his wife and critically injured his mother-in-law before beaing beaten to death by public at msai on Thursday, police said.
28-year-old Bijeta Devi from Santi gar in msai was killed by her husband Rajnish garkoti with a dao when she refused to go with him to Uttarakhand after repeated pleas. Rajnish also attacked his mother-in-law Beauty Devi who tried to interfere in the issue, msai DC R K Sharma informed adding, she was admitted at Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh with multiple cut injuries.
According to police, Bijeta Devi, daughter of Ibotombi Singh went to Bangalore two years back to pursue beautician course where she met Rajnish and had an affair with him. They stayed together for nearly seven months at Gurgaon. However, uble to withstand the torture meted to Bijeta by her husband she came back to msai in December last year and wanted to break the relationship with him.
On Thursday at around 11 a.m. Rajnish suddenly appeared at the house of Bijeta and met father requesting him to send his daughter with him and apologized for his misdeed. However, Bijeta was not in the house during that time.
At around 3.30 p.m. Bijeta returned to her house with her mother from market with Rajnish. On reaching home, Rajnish persuaded Bijeta to accompany him back to Gurgaon to which Bijeta refused to go without consent of her parents. Enraged with her denial, Rajnish took out a dao and started hitting Bijeta who died on the spot due to multiple deep cut injuries while her mother was seriously injured when she try to protect her, the DC informed.
Though Rajnish tried to flee from the scene but caught him and bashed him to death.
A case has been registered at msai police station and post-mortem conducted on the bodies on Friday, the DC added.
