Manipur dominate in the Bimal Chandra Goswami Memorial North East Open Sports climbing championship

GUWAHATI: Manipur dominated in the Bimal Chandra Goswami Memorial North East Open Sports Climbing championship which concluded in the city yesterday. Among the 12 gold medals Manipur bagged 5. Host Assam, finished the second spot, collected three gold medals. Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh were the other two teams which won two gold medals each.

Maibam Chingkhelnganba (Manipur), Thaja Seram (Manipur) and Bishnu Kumar Gurung (Sikkim) made the best individual performance among the competitors collecting two gold each. A zonal team from this competition would be selected and the team will take part in the national level zonal championship.

Men Open Speed- Maibam Chingkhelnganba (Manipur), Women Open Speed- Thaja Seram (Manipur), Women Open Lead- Thaja Seram (Manipur), Junior Boys Lead-Mathisue J Marak (Assam), Junior Boys speed-Kiran Dajusow (Arunachal), Girls Lead- Chanmoni Rabha (Assam), Junior girls Speed-Pisa Yagu (Arunachal Pradesh),Sub Junior Boys Lead-Bishnu Kumar Gurung (Sikkim), Sub Junior Boys Speed: Bishnu Kumar Gurung (Sikkim), Sub Junior Girls Lead-Yumlembam Pushpa Chanu (Manipur), Sub Junior Girls Speed- Elina Mardi (Assam).
