Manisha Bora Brings Laurels To Golaghat District

GOLAGHAT/MERAPANI: Manisha Bora from Furkating College of Golaghat district brought laurels to the district by securing 9th position in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination, 2019 (Arts), result of which was declared on Saturday.

Talking to this correspondent, Manisha Bora said that problems and issues did not stand as barriers and studying sincerely and working hard would bring success. Further, she said that she wanted to become an administrative officer. She is a daughter of Atul Bora and Jyoti Bora, residents of a backward rural area named Athgaon of Golaghat town. Her father passed away two years back. Manisha Bora obtained 466 out of 500 marks and she scored 87 in Assamese, 88 in English, 98 in Political Science, 97 in Sociology, 96 in History and 83 in Geography.

She attained the highest marks in Sociology in the State. As per records, around 6,281 candidates in Arts, 432 candidates in Commerce and 773 candidates in Science appeared for the HSSLC examination this year in Golaghat district. Overall pass percentage of Golaghat district is 76. 82 per cent in Arts, 79.86 per cent in Commerce and 86.55 per cent in Science.
