Martin Luther Christian University organises career fair

SHILLONG, June 28: With an objective of not only giving the best education to the students but also to arm them with enough information for their foray into the world of the work, the Martin Luther Christian University’s Career Counseling team, today organized a Career Mela for all its graduating students from all the different departments of the University. The event was attended by this year’s graduating students from both the Post Graduate and Under Graduate classes from all eight departments. The day began with an address by the Registrar of the University DD Ingty who encouraged the students to follow their dreams and to take what to the values learnt in MLCU out to the world. A presentation on the different scholarships and fellowships for different given by the UGC and other bodies was given by Dr. Melari S Nongrum, Associate Dean, University Research Cell followed by a brief talk on Indian Civil Services by the former Chief Secretary, government of Meghalaya Barkos Warjri.  A presentation on Common Schemes for Business Ventures was also given by S. Shadap, General Mager, DCIC. During the Mela, stalls were put up for the students who got a chance to have a more in depth talk with different organisations including Bioresources Development Center, GVK EMRI 108, North East Network, Faith Foundation, SS Netcom, Lamjingshai, AKQ and Soundwave.com School of Sound, James Music School,  and Social Welfare Department (Family and Child).
