Martyrs Commemorated in Silchar

Silchar: Late Khandal Singh and late Khanglubuan were commemorated recently at their respective schools in their respective villages at Singer band and Rongmei. Floral tributes were paid at their portraits for their outstanding acts of bravery.

DSP Khandal Singh, a resident of Singer band under Lakhipur police station of 7 Bn was shot dead by ULFA at Jalgaon near Choraigula on August 2, 1996. His wife N Devi as well as ASI M N Singh, a constable, and head teacher of his School Kunjalata Devi paid their rich tributes.

Khanglubuan, a Jawaan and a resident of Rongmei village, Binnakandi Part II, was also shot dead by ULFA on January 12, 2000, at Makum in Tinsukia. Floral tributes were paid by officer-in-charge Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury of Lakhipur police station. Both Khandal Singh and Khanglubuan were commemorated at their schools 111 LP School and 577 LP School respectively.
