Mass rally to 'Save the Girl Child' at Haflong

Haflong, March 20: A mass rally on ‘Save the Girl Child’ was flagged off by NCHAC executive member Nirmal Langthasa this morning at Haflong.

Female infanticide is prevalent in many parts of the country. The government has been trying to create awareness among the masses to save the girl child under PC & PNDT Act.

In this connection, the Additiol Chief Medical & Health Office (FW), Dima Hasao district, organised the public rally from its office campus to the Autonomous Council Rotary and then to the Cultural Institute Hall where a meeting on the topic was also held.

The rally was also participated by Additiol Chief Medical & Health Officer (FW) Dr.(Mrs) Krish Kemprai, Joint Director of Health Services Dr. N.T Rema Lalsim, Superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital Dr. Harpal Singh Suri, Senior Medical & Health Officer Dr. Lee Hakmaosa, officers, nurses, Asha workers, teachers and a large number of students.
