Massive plantation drive by SSB in Kokrajhar, Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, June 4: Massive afforestation drive was carried out by personnel of Border out Posts of 16th Bn.SSB Ranighuli deployed along Indo-Bhutan in the border areas of districts Chirang and Kokrajhar on Saturday where around 10,000 plants were planted.

The personnel of the SSB, with the help of local people, planted various types of saplings like neem, Arjun, Gloy, Ashok, Tulsi and other fruits plants in and around of camp and nearby village areas like local markets and schools premises in order to make these areas beautiful and healthy for living. Besides this, villagers were also motivated to grow more trees to make the areas lush green.

Recently 16th Bn.SSB Ranighuli carried out an afforestation drive in the Chibari (Tilapara) area near Bn. Hqr and border areas where more than 5,000 medicated plants of Giloy were planted. During the past, the 16th Bn.SSB initiated various social and welfare programmes in the border villages for their uplift.
