Massive protest across State over Nilamoni's comment

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 28: The chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary,  who is also president of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), has slammed Nilamoni Sen Deka’s statement where the former State Minister called the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani as the second wife of Prime Minister rendra Modi.

In a BPF mass gathering held at Tulsibil in Kokrajhar, Hagrama Mohilary said that Deka’s statement was ‘objectioble’ and that Deka did not have the quality for a tiol party leader. He warned that if the Congress did not suspend Deka, the party would lose in the forthcoming assembly elections.

In a public mass gathering, along with hundred supporters former Congress BTC MCLA Abjal Houqe Sarkar joined the BPF and over 4,000 supporters from Congress, AIUDF, Jagostiya Aikyo Manch also joined the BPF.

Meanwhile, the Kokrajhar district BJP also strongly condemned Nilamoni Sen Deka for his ‘objectioble’ statement. The BJP members burnt down the effigies of Nilamoni Sen Deka, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Rupjyoti Kurmi in front of the district office premises.
