Massive protest rally

Tamulpur, April 5: A massive protest rally was held on Thursday at Tamulpur in Baksa district against molestation, gambling, illegal liquor sale and anti-social activities. The rally was jointly organized by Tamulpur AASU, ABSU, Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union, Rabha Students’ Union, Sarania Kachari Students’ Union, and other organizations.
The rally started from the office of the Tamulpur Anchalik AASU and was iugurated by Biju Barbaruah, maging trustee of Asha Darshan Trust. More than thousand people along with students and women of various self-help groups participated in the rally with banners and festoons. They shouted slogans seeking protection of women and to stop gambling and anti-social activities in Tamulpur subdivision. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Subdivisiol Officer (C) of Tamulpur demanding immediate action against gambling and anti-social activities.
