Matri Sanmilan held at Bilasipara

BILASIPARA, March 2: In connection with the celebration of birth centery  of freedom fighter Padmashree  Rani Gydinlieu, a largely-attended mother’s meet  was held  at Bilasipara in the premises of Sankardev Shishu Aru Vidya Niketan, Bilasipara.

A large number of mothers, guardians and well-wishers  attended the programme. The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and singing of devotiol songs. Floral tribute  was  paid before the portraits of Rani Gydinlieu , queen of Jhansi Lakshmi Bai,  Jijabai,  Sarada Devi, Chandraprova Saikiani, Sister Nivedita,  Kaklata,, Bhogeswari Phukani, Amal Prava Das and Sarojini idu.

In this conection a meeting was held with Dr.Pratima Neogi, professor of Golakgonj Chilarai College in the chair. Among others the meeting was addressed by Dr.Sankaranda Sarker of Goalpara and  Mrs Bhupali Pathak. The speakers while addressing the meeting laid emphasis  on the duties and obligation of the mothers. The meeting ended with vote of thanks from the chair.
