Mawieit residents remind Mukul to fulfill promises

NONGSTOIN, June 10: The people of Mawieit area in West Khasi Hills district, keep on facing a lot of problems due to lack of development. The worst condition of the roads especially the Nongstoin – Mawieit Road has made their life miserable.

Chief Minister Dr. Mukuk M Sangma had promised to take initiatives to solve the problems faced by the people of West Khasi Hills, especially the people of Maweit area, during his visit to Nongstoin College on the December 8 but the promise made him till date has not been fulfilled.

Meanwhile,the Khasi Student Union Maweit Area Unit, and elders of different villages such as Rangbah Shnong, Sordar Shnong and Synjuk ki seng Rangbah Shnong have reminded the State Government regarding all the issues but no steps have been taken.

Ioanis Diengngan, president of KSU Maweit Area Unit, on Tuesday submitted a memorandom to the Lok Sabha MP Vincent H. Pala, while he was attending the thanks giving programme organised by the Nongstoin College.
