Me-dam-me-phi celebration

MARGHERITA, January 28: Me-dam-me-phi will be celebrated at the Ledo Central Public Rangamancha on January 30 and January 31.

On January 30, the programme with start with flag hoisting by the president of the Me-dam-me-phi organizing committee. Maidam tarpan will be done by noted Tai pandit Chao Girin Mahon Baruah. The dam and Furalung Puja will be conducted by Chao Har Baruah, Chao Budhi Gayon, Chao Konpai Konwar, Chao Khagen Mahon, Chao Ajit Gogoi and Chao Kaiti Mahon. This will be followed by art and drawing competition, sports events and delegates meet.

The second day’s programme will begin with Ban-Fi Puja which will be conducted by Chao Girin Mahon Baruah.  The open session will be iugurated by Dr Budhin Gogoi, Principal of Margherita College where the keynote speaker will be Chao Tankeswar Gogoi, subdivision Block Primary Education Officer and Chao Jagat Changmai, president of Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha.

Dr Kripa Prasad Upadhaya, Principal of Ledo College, Dr Ramen Hazarika, Head of the Department Assamese Department, Margherita College, Rajkumar Bishang Singpho Mauzadar of Tirap  Mauza, Chao Hemen Handique, president and Chao Surojit Buragohain,  secretary of Purvanchal Tai Sahitya Sabha will also be present. The grand feast will be iugurated by Chao Bishnu Rajkonwar, Headmaster of Makum Killa School, Margherita.
