Medical camp organised in Silchar

Silchar, June 7: Bharatiya Jakalyan Sangstha, an NGO, organized a medical health and vaccition camp on typhoid at the premises of Town High School on Sunday. Children were given a single dose of vaccition at the camp that began from the early hours of the day. Dr. Pradip Kumar th, MD, who is the chief organizer of the NGO, said, “There are various symptoms of typhoid. In case of typhoid affected patients, fever continues for 4 to 5 days and then it starts to rise. The typhoid vaccine can only prevent this disease from taking a fatal form. An early detection of the disease can cause less pain for the patients of typhoid. Typhoid can be cured by proper medication and nursing.”
th also said that typhoid initially causes severe headache, bouts of vomiting and can also lead to unconsciousness. He mentioned it in particular that the disease can be prevented for spreading if timely doses of vaccition are given. Typhoid fever is an acute illness which is associated with fever caused by the Salmonella typhi bacteria. The disease can also be caused by Salmonella paratyphi, a related bacterium that usually causes a less severe illness. The bacteria are deposited in water or food by a human carrier and are then spread to other people in the area. Chief medical advisor Dr. S Paul Choudhury, (A.H.S), who was former Joint Director of Health Services, Assam was present at the camp.
