Medical fitness of drivers, conductors and handymen stressed

MANGALDAI, January 12: The District Transport Department in Darrang, while celebrating the 27th tiol Road Safety Week with the theme ‘Road Safety: Time for Action’, organized a day-long medical and health camp exclusively for the drivers and conductors and handymen of all commercial vehicles at Kharupetia-the business hub of the district, on Tuesday.

A total of 15 drivers, conductors and handymen of commercial vehicles took part in the medical and health camp. Medical Officers from Mangaldai Civil Hospital, assisted by the staff of the Ophthalmology department, rendered their service in the camp. In presence of office bearers of Bus Owners Association and Motor Shramik Sangha, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Padma Lochan Hazarika iugurated the medical camp and laid stress on maintence of medical fitness by the drivers, conductors and the handymen.
