Meeting held on preparedness for counting day
Abhayapuri, April 28: A meeting was held on Wednesday in the SDO (Civil) office regarding counting preparedness and control of law and order during the counting process. The meeting was presided over by the District Election Officer of North Salmara Election District, Saranga Pani Sharma, and other officers present in the meeting were bajyoti Ojha, Circle Officer of Srijangram, Assistant Commissioner, Shubhram Aditya Borah, SDPO SN Das and Ashrumoni Malakar, and candidates as well as representatives of different political parties and media persons, stated a press release. The DEO asked all present to strictly follow the rules and regulations on the counting day. The DEO of North Salmara, Abhayapuri, asked the candidates and representatives of all political parties to appoint such persons as counting agents who are cool tempered and physically fit and not having any antecedents of creating disturbances which might hamper the atmosphere for peaceful conduction of the counting process to be held on May 19. The DEO directed that there would be 15 counting agents present in the counting hall and the agents will take their seats according to the seating arrangement as directed by ECI to DEO. Law and order should be strictly maintained by members of political parties. The DEO also cautioned the political parties that the president and secretary of the political parties would be held responsible for defying law and order.
The SDPO informed that adequate security arrangements had been made both inside and outside the counting hall.
