Meghalaya Police  warns against fake advertisement

Shillong, May 4: Meghalaya Police on Friday issued a warning against a fake advertisement for posts in the department which is in circulation in social media and the internet. 

“The Central Recruitment Board (CRB) of the police department hereby clarifies that no advertisement has been issued by the Board,” H Nongpluh, Inspector General of Police cum Chairman (CRB) said in a statement.

Nongpluh also informed that an FIR has been filed by the member secretary, CRB for investigation and taking necessary action against unknown person(s) who circulated the fake advertisement.

He also stated that all advertisements/ notices issued by the CRB will be available in the official website of Meghalaya Police. Hence, Nongpluh requested the members of the public not to respond to any such fake advertisements which are not available in the official website of Meghalaya Police (www.megpolice.gov.in).

The fake advertisement for posts in the Meghalaya police comes close on the heels of a fake results of interview purportedly conducted by Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) earlier this week. The fake results for Junior Engineer Civil (Grade-1) in Veterinary Department, Water Resource Department and PWD (Roads & Buildings) went viral in WhatsApp.
