Meghalaya Scouts and Guides member brings laurels to State

Shillong, April 12: 14 Senior Members of the Meghalaya unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides Fellowship returned home with Laurels from the tiol Gathering of the Scouts and Guides Fellowship held at Bodh Gaya, Pat from the April 7 to 9 in which 25 States participated. Participants also came from Nepal and Malaysia as invited guests.

The Scout and Guide Fellowship is an organization of Adult Members, Senior Citizens and well-wishers with aim “To Support Young People”. During the tiol Gathering many activities took place with competitions in 3 areas –State Presentation, Grand Camp Fire Item and Fellowship Haat in which the Meghalaya unit won the ‘Best Performing State’ award. Further Shimtilang Kharbuli won the Young Achiever Award titled ‘Satish Khan Award’, a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a citation and support for attending intertiol event during the year. Kharbuli is a Ranger, studying in Umshyrpi College and is the holder of the State Award Rajya Puraskar Ranger. This has been stated in a press release.
