Memorandum to CM for granting compensation to families

Silchar, April 12: The chairperson of the relief and rehabilitation department of Silchar district Congress committee, Amul Islam Laskar, has sent a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar on Thursday for payment of compensation of Rs.5 lakh each to the family members of the victims of road accident which occurred at Saidpur of Soi constituency on April 2. The horrible accident took place on April 2 at around 11 pm when an over loaded truck, loaded with urea, hit about 7 persons, out of whom 4 died on the spot.

The rest are fighting for their lives at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. It has been mentioned in the memorandum that the 4 expired persons were the lone bread earners of their families. A copy of the memorandum has been sent to APCC, Assam, chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department state committee and president of Cachar district Congress committee.
