Meritorious students awarded at Tangla

KALAIGAON, January 31: Five meritorious students were felicitated at Tangla recently.

The felictation function was organized by Arunodoi Academy School and Arunodoi Junior Science Colllege in the premise of Arunodoi Academy School at Tangla. On the occasion, a farewell ceremony was organized and 51 outgoing students of Class X were given farewell.

Himanta Biswa Deka and Subham Patar were awarded with the Sadanda Hazarika Memorial Award for overall excellence and good performance in the school. The award was sponsored by Anjali Debi Hazarika in memory of her father-in-law Sadanda Hazarika of Guwahati. On the other hand, Sansri rzary, Peeyus K. Madhan and Driti Devi were felicitated and awarded with the Daya Ram Das Memorial trophy. The welcome speech was given by polean Daimari, Principal of Arunodoi Academy School, who also presided over the award-giving ceremony. Ramanuj Hazarika took part in this meeting as the chief guest. He spoke about how he could score mere 70 per cent marks in HSLC, but could mage to pass HS examition with State rank. He also told students, teachers and guardians about education in New Delhi, where relation between students and teachers is unique. He advised students not to choose any career under any pressure. At the same time he advised students not to consider poor fincial status of parents as deterrent to quality education. Citing his own example, Hazarika said that a meritorious student of any faculty could achieve success in life. He advised students to see dreams and to fix goals accordingly for better future.

The award and farewell ceremony was also addressed by Prabjyoti Das, Principal of Arunodoi Junior Science College. Senior jourlist and science organizer Jayanta Das, teacher Lakhi Kanta Ramchiary also spoke in this ceremony.
