DHUBRI, July 10: Around 40 students of the High School Leaving Certificate examination (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) exam, 2018, who came out with flying colours, were felicitated at the 69th annual session of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held at Green Nursery School on Monday. As part of the programme, art and quiz competition were held and prizes were distributed among winners followed by cultural programme in the evening. The session was attended and addressed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Animesh Talukdar, convener of State Think India, Aniket Mahalaskar, Principal of Bholanath College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty and others.
Speakers lauded the activities of ABVP and appealed to the student body to keep the focus on studies and build career in chosen fields according to skill and talent. “Whatever you do being an activist of ABVP, it is your academic performance that will be counted at the end. So please do not ignore your studies as you are the future of the nation,” the speakers said.
A renowned cultural exponent in Indian classical dance, Erika Nandi, Dhubri Additional Superintendent of Police Gunindra Deka and Deputy Superintendent of Police Tinayan Bhuyan graced the cultural function and distributed prizes among the winners of the art and quiz competitions. Earlier, president of Dhubri unit ABVP, Manojit Dutta Choudhury hoisted the organizational flag in the morning and marked the beginning of the day-long programme.
