Meritorious students felicitated in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, June 20: A special felicitation programme to meritorious students who secured first positions with distinction, star marks in HSLC, HS and to those who gained scholarship at LP and ME school level in 2016, was organized by Ligiri Bari Village Development Committee in association with Ligiri Bari Tiger Club and Ligiri Bari Shilpi Sangha  at No. 343 Ligiri Bari LP School on Sunday.

Moneswar Mili, Principal, Dr BR Ambedkar Junior College, Desangmukh, while attending the function as distinguished guest, expressed his happiness at such an achievement from the  underprivileged areas and  advised them to put their best efforts and wished success in future.   

Dembi Ram Panging, noted social worker and poet who attended the function as special guest, urged all the students to fix their aim in life and go forward for achieving the goal by dint of hard work. “Everything is possible, if aim is clear,” Panging added and further urged the students to make a habit of going to the library and reading books to gain extra knowledge, besides the school text books.

Other speakers Subhash Panging, social worker and assistant teacher of Afala Mising High School, Dr. Rajib Mili, scientist and  Rajoni Panging, president of Sivasagar District Gramya Sangbadik Samiti also encouraged the students for more success in future.

The programme, which was presided over by Kamal Chandra Panging, president of Ligiri Bari Village Development Committee, kicked off with a traditiol dance by children.

A total of 57 students which included eight Higher Secondary students, 15 High School Leaving Certificate students, 25 Middle school and nine Lower Primary pass students, were welcomed and felicitated.

Many villagers, social workers and conveners of the programme, Jugen Mili, Punya Ram Mili, Aniram Panging, Joyram Panging, Anuj Yein and others were present on the occasion.

Ronuj Kr Panging, assistant teacher of Major-Ligiri Bari ME School, who anchored the entire programme, also delivered the welcome speech.
