Meritorious students feted at Tamulpur

TAMULPUR, June 13: Around 600 meritorious students, who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC examitions, 2016, were felicitated here by Assamese magazine ‘Barta Pokhili’ on Sunday.

A programme was held at Tamulpur HS School auditorium on the occasion which was conducted by poet Dulujit Das and poet Dwijendra Kr Das. Baksa Deputy Commissioner Mahadanda Hazarika, cultural worker of Tamulpur Leho Boro, Headmaster of Panchim Tamulpur High School Sripoti Bora, Headmaster of Bapuji High School Bharat Tudu and Headmaster of Barkhopa High School Gopal Rajbangshi addressed the meeting. Addressing the students Baksa DC Hazarika appreciated the students for their success in the examition.

He urged the students to be a good citizen. He also advised the students to fix their future plan as they can achieve their goal.  Leho Boro in his speech asked the students not to forget their villages, schools and society as well in future.

As many as 396 students of 10th standard and 196 students of 12th standard  (Science and Arts)  who has secured  distinction marks , star Marks and first division from various institutions, were felicitated with books, citation and pen.  Editor of monthly Assamese Magazine Barta Pokhili , Brajen Deka told reporters that they  have been organizing this  programme for last few years  to encourage the students of Tamulpur area.
