MGVK Bhanu reviews schemes in Golaghat

Golaghat, Feb 23: Additiol Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, MGVK Bhanu visited Golaghat. The top IAS officer came to Golaghat to take part in a review meeting of Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

A review meet of P& RD Department of four districts mely Golaghat , Jorhat, Sibsagar and Charaideo was held at the conference hall of the Circuit House in Golaghat. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioners, Project Directors of DRDA, CEOs of ZPC, BDOs were present. In the meeting, MGVK Bhanu reviewed and monitored the status of  several schemes like Indira Awas Yoj, MGNREGA, Old Age Pension and Widow Pension and enquired about the schemes that are still pending or yet to be implemented.

After the meeting, the top bureaucrat told media persons that the old age pension and widow pension’s allotted money would be received by the beneficiaries through their bank accounts from the month of April. For that he appealed to all beneficiaries concerned to provide their bank account details and other requisite information to the authorities concerned.

When asked about the merger of District Rural Development Authority and Zilla Parishad Council, Bhanu added that this matter was under consideration and opinions were being taken from experts from Kartaka and Kerala in this matter. By the end of the year it will be clear whether the DRDA and ZPC will be merged or not.
