Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen Passes Away on Monday

Paul Allen, 65, who was better known as the co-founder of Microsoft, passed away Monday. Allen was suffering from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. His family confirmed his death in an official statement wherein it is clearly mentioned that the co-founder died as a result of complications stemming from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Releasing the statement, his sister Jody Allen, states, “My brother was a remarkable individual on every level. While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend.”

Apart from being a tech maestro, Allen was a much witty and generous person to his family and his death at such an early age has left his family in deep grief. His friends and family, speaking about the departed soul, mentions how well-scheduled his timetable used to. However busy with his hectic and work schedules he might be, he always had enough time for his near and dear ones and this was an extraordinary quality of Allen.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella issuing a statement lauded Allen's accomplishments and stated, "[our] hearts are with Paul's family and loved ones."

Allen had co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975 who also owned an NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.

Allen's 2011 memoir, Idea Man, which recalled his early days at Microsoft, elaborated, "During the founding first eight years my ideas were definitely key to the company," Allen is quoted as explaining. "When it came to selling and marketing and staffing and all those kinds of things, [Gates] was much more excited on the business side, so we became very complementary."
