Milad-un-Nabi observed in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: On the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, that is, birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, a peaceful procession was taken out by the Dibrugarh Fruit Market Committee under the banner of Bazm-e-Sirat-un-Nabi on Wednesday.

The rally, which saw good participation, went through the most prominent areas of the town, spreading the message of peace and harmony of the Prophet. Dates and sweets, apart from leaflets having few of the Prophet’s teachings written on them, were distributed among the general public by the members of the committee along the way.

Talking to The Sentinel, Jainul Hussain, said, “Prophet Muhammad was the epitome of peace and righteousness. Throughout his life, we find examples in support of this. And, I believe that in such times of moral turpitude, his way of life and values are a guiding light for us all.”

The day was also observed by various mosques by organising milads in the evening where the significance of the day and the Prophet’s teachings were discussed.
