'Minister unresponsive to woes of tea tribes'

Dibrugarh, April 12: Sodou Adivasi Chah Jajati Jagaran Sanstha has called State Labour and Tea Tribes Welfare Minister Pallab Lochan Das the most unsuccessful minister of all time. The central general secretary of the organization, Santosh Kurmi, through a press communiqué, lambasted Das for being unresponsive and callous to the woes of the tea tribes and labourers. Kurmi also warned the minister not to make false promises to win the favour of the tea tribes before the upcoming panchayat elections. Pointing out few recent instances during the Vidhan Sabha Budget presentation when Das announced several welfare plans and schemes for the tea tribe community, including the establishment of 100 schools in the tea garden areas, Kurmi asked Das to stop taking the margilized community for a ride, and to put an end to his bogus promises and assurances.
