Ministers monthly visit to districts from current month

Shillong, May 8: Ministers monthly visit to the districts will start from this month said the Meghalya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday. Soon after the review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts, the Chief Minister said that the monthly visit will be co-ordinated by the DCs to ensure that the Ministers are apprised of the developmental works carried at the ground level.

This initiative is the first of its kind in the State and aims at having a direct connect between the Government and the people besides the objective of direct supervision over the works undertaken by the Government. Moreover, the Chief Minister also reviewed the impact of hailstorm and cyclone that lashed various part of the State in the recent past. He also said that further information has to be collected before finalizing the amount meant for the beneficiaries.
