Ministry of Home Affairs: Relaxation in Height Norms for STs of NE & Gorkhas for recruitment in Central Armed Forces

Guwahati/New Delhi: After 70 years of Independence of the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs has taken a decision to remove discrimination in height norms for the STs of North-East & Gorkhas for recruitment in Central Armed Forces.

With this relaxation, a large number of youths from North-East & Gorkhas will be recruited in CAPFs.

As per an office memorandum, the Ministry of Home Affairs had directed to maintain uniformity in height norms of Male Gorkhas and Male STs of North East States. The competent authority had relaxed/ revised height norms for ibid categories for recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs/Assistant Sub-Inspector (Exe) in CISF and Constable (GD) in CAPFs & ARs.
