JOYSAGAR: A Class IX student and an inhabitant of Mornoikinar gaon of Sivasagar were rescued by Sivasagar Police with the help of Dhemaji Police on Friday.

The girl was missing for about nine days and the parents had lodged an FIR regarding this in Sivasagar Sadar Police Station. Following this, a case was registered (1044/18) and a Sivasagar Police team led by ASI G. Basu was able to rescue the girl and also nab two prime accused.

Police apprehended one Rintu Das (24) of Dhemaji town and D. Pegu (27) of Babupatty, Sivasagar town. These two youths had allegedly abducted the minor girl and brought her to Dhemaji on October 9. Police are interrogating the accused for more information.
