Miscreants break car window pane, loot valuables

From our Staff Correspondent

Dibrugarh, Jan 18: Miscreants, juvenile offenders and drug abusers are in action in almost all the nooks and corners of Dibrugarh town and have been carrying out their nefarious activities under the very nose of police and security forces. Citizens often lodge their complaints to police but as police claim, despite their efforts, the miscreants cannot be brought to book.

The situation has come to such a pass that miscreants dared to loot belongings of a female advocate by breaking the window pane of her car which was parked in front of Old Court, a place which is usually busy during working days. The female advocate, to her dismay, found that her car’s window pane was broken and her bag containing Rs 10,000 and some valuable persol items and professiol documents were stolen.

A FIR was lodged by the victim at Dibrugarh Police Station. The other victims of similar incidents, while sharing their experiences, told this reporter that the incident was not an isolated case but such type of incidents often take place in crowded parking zones which are scattered in the town. They also alleged that the authority had miserably failed to contain such activities.

Moreover, miscreants also indulge in scratching the parked cars with sharp instruments, an act which has raised concern among the car owners regarding the safekeeping of their parked vehicles within the town areas.
