Miscreants kill three from one family in Kokrajhar, Police suspects pre-planned murder

Kokrajhar: In a brutal murder incident, three members of a family were killed by unidentified miscreants in Mukhigaon village located under Fakiragram Police Station under Kokrajhar District on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Tipul Rai (34), Moromi Rai (25), Anjumoni Rai (3), however, elder daughter of Tipul Rai namely Kabita Rai was reported safe.

The matter came to light after local people spotted the half-naked body of Moromi Rai (wife) of Tipul Rai and Anjumoni Rai (younger daughter) near the verandah of their residence.

Locals also recovered the body of Tipul Roy inside the residence.

Meanwhile, the police under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police, Punamjit Nath is conducting a thorough investigation in connection to the matter. Sniffer dogs were also deployed for search operations.

Kokrajhar Police, on the other hand, suspected it to be a pre-planned murder.

The bodies of the deceased had been sent for post mortem.

Further investigations are on.

It may be mentioned that killing incident in the state had made a sudden rise in the last few months.

In one kind of incident near Assam Nagaland border, a gang of 6-7 armed robbers man dressed in Army fatigues and armed with AK 47 rifle and pistol stormed in the residence of Moolsingh Rathore and attempted robbery by holding the businessman’s wife, son and daughter-in-law at gunpoint.

As per police report, the businessman who was returning home received a distress call from his son and rushed to the spot to confront the gang of armed assailants who had robbed of valuables including jewellery and cash from his residence.

Businessman Rathore was shot multiple times from point blank range and he succumbed to injuries on reaching the hospital following excessive bleeding. One of his acquaintance also received bullet injury however his condition is stated to be out of danger.
