Missing minor girls rescued from Besimari village

MANGALDAI, March 8: Two minor girls who were reported missing from Kartaka since March 5 were rescued from village Besimari under Dalgaon police station in Darrang district on March 7 following the prompt initiative taken by the Kartaka Police with cooperation of Darrang police.

Two minor sisters of Chumsandri village under Avalahalli police station in Kartaka were reportedly missing. The parents of the missing girls immediately informed the local police there who made a missing entry vide no 41/2015. They picked up two youths, Raju Ali and Mobaraque Ali, origilly from Besimari area in Darrang district, who worked in a food packaging unit there. During interrogation they confessed that one Gafur Ali (22) working in a coffee garden in Kartaka took both the sisters to Assam by train with a false assurance of marrying them. The father of the missing girls accompanied by Kartaka Police reached Assam and approached Darrang police for help.

Accordingly, the team with the help of Dalgaon police reached village Besimari and recovered both the missing girls from the residence of Gofur Ali. Meanwhile, the Kartaka police left Assam with the two girls. The Kartaka police was not interested in the arrest of Gofur Ali and he was released from Dalgaon police station.
