MIYF expresses gratitude towards Transport Department in-charge

SHILLONG, Feb 23: The Meghalaya Indigenous Youth Federation (MIYF), Warjaintia Circle, Amlarem in a press release issued on Thursday expressed gratitude to the newly appointed in-charge of the Transport Department at the Amsarin Weighbridge (privately owned),Warjaintia Manner and Rongrin. The Federation has high expectations from these officers to stop the legalized corruption in the form of Weighbridge. “We hope that the overloaded coal/limestone/boulder stone laden trucks be stopped once and for all or else pay the fines in the state treasury as per the provisions of Law/NGT,” N Chyrmang vice president MIYF, Warjaintia Circle Amlarem said.

The Federation were against these alleged illegal corruption system/process in the entire state and urged the enforcement Inspectors of the Transport Department in each Weighbridge (whether owned by government or private party) to prevent such meces. “We hope that we wouldn’t see the illegal overloaded trucks again plying through the Amsarin Weighbridge and we urge our Federal Body to demand from the authorities to stop these open corruption practising in all the weighbridges in the state,” he said.
