Aizawl, Jan 16: With an aim to integrate children from northeastern states with the rest of the country, Assam Rifles took an initiative to recently arrange a ‘tiol integration tour’ for students from remote areas of Mizoram.

A majority of these children from Mizoram said that they were visiting Delhi for the first time, and added that they were fortute to meet and interact with the Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju.

During the meeting, the children shared experiences of their visits to different historical places. It was a rare opportunity for them to explore the diversity of the country.

“I feel nice to see people coming from Northeast and other difficult areas from Jammu and Kashmir also our forces like BSF, CRPF they also bring students and other youths for various purposes specially Bharat Darshan to make them see different places and experience the life and other things various part in the country. This is the process of tiol integration and Assam rifle has been doing commendable job since very long time,” said Rijiju.

Rijiju described Mizoram as one of the peaceful states in the country and there is a huge potential for tourism which can be realized by improving infrastructure and better connectivity.

“Mizoram has big potential. There are some beautiful tourism potential areas in Mizoram. So for that, we need better connectivity and better infrastructure development. We will be taking care of all of these things. Since I have become minister in this new government, I have taken a special interest in northeastern state in terms of border development and other infrastructure development,” he added.

Such tours help youth from remote areas to understand the diversity of the country and motivate them towards tion building. (ANI)
